Emma Holister is self-taught apart from a brief waft through Central
St. Martins, London (92-93) where she attended a one year post-graduate
course in painting.
She is English, speaks several languages, has travelled fairly widely
and prefers to live in most places other than England.
She has generally exhibited in most of the places she has lived, including
London, Brighton and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Her artwork is, in general, mostly about things that obsess, worry or
annoy her. She has a very broad variety of styles and frequently uses
cartoon imagery because she feels it’s the best way to talk about
unsettling things without boring people to death.
